Extreme Makeover...Martin Edition

This week my Dad was in town (he drove the kids and I back from Michigan and will be flying home on Tuesday.) Before we arrived he was asking me, "So what is there to do for a whole week in Kansas?" (In Michigan my Dad has been keeping busy by painting his house) So, naturally I said, "Paint!"

I can't give my Dad enough credit for this! If Bryan and I did this ourselves we would have totally screwed it up! Thanks Dad! You have given us more than a paint job...you gave us a new house!

Just so you know what it was like before (I'll have to dig up some pics for a later post of the 'before') EVERYTHING that is White used to be Wood. Including the crown and floor moldings and also the doors. The color is 'lunartide' w/ a darker shade on the walls facing North. We were experimenting w/ the curtain color and length (we like the ones we have but they were out of stock when I went back for more...so we are waiting...) We purchased the lights in the hall and foyer and also the dining room. We also purchased the curtain rod and curtains, everything else was already ours. (Well...the couch and chair are new, they were here before we started.)

The pics look blurry...don't know why...and there are wierd shadows everywhere. The real feeling I get from this 'makeover' is a light, airy, open feeling. Everything looks bigger!

Now...you all have to come to Kansas to see it lol!

Happy New Year!!

Hi guys! Ok, I have yet to figure out how to do video and comments on the same blog post. So if you look at the next two posts you will see everything I wanted to include in this one lol!!

Our New Years Eve "party" is going great! We played hullabulloo (sp??) and apples to apples. If you have never played "apples to apples" it is sooooo much fun! It is a simple card game where you pick one (green) card (adjective) and place it on the table. Every player has a handfull of (red) cards (nouns) that they try to compare to the green card. For example...my favorite of the evening...the green card was "cuddly". Bryan and Jessa's team put down a "sharp knives" card. Brandon about fell out of his chair laughing!!!

After dinner and baths the kids had a classic new years eve toga party lol! Here are some pics...

And then the video clips are below... Jessa is sleeping now, Jaden will be soon but Brandon gets to stay up. Good thing we are on Central Time so we only have to stay up until 11:00!!

Anyway, happy new year to you all!!!
